Chocolate Buttercream Frosting

I will admit that I have never really liked frosting all my life, and only tolerated chocolate frosting because chocolate anything is my favorite! Making frosting from scratch is a game changer though. This Chocolate Buttercream frosting is oh so tasty, not too sweet and oh so smooth and creamy!

If you use the recommended grass fed butter it will be even more divine! The taste of grass fed butter is no match to conventional butter.

Just look how smooth and creamy it is!

Note! Most of the time I half this recipe!

Chocolate Buttercream Frosting

Chocolate Buttercream Frosting Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Add cocoa to a large bowl or bowl of stand mixer. Wisk if yours has lumps.

  2. Cream together butter and cocoa powder until well-combined. Start SLOWLY or you'll get a coco cloud!

  3. Add sugar and milk to cocoa mixture by adding 1 cup of sugar followed by about a tablespoon of milk. After each addition has been combined, turn mixer onto a high speed for about a minute. (Seriously time it and it will turn out better!) Repeat until all sugar and milk have been added.

  4. Add vanilla extract and espresso powder and combine well.

  5. Depending on the weather and your altitude, you can add more milk if it's too dry or more sugar if it's too wet! One tablespoon at a time!

Notes:

  • Make sure all your ingredients are gluten free!

  • Start slowly with the mixing of coco and butter or you will make a mess!

  • Start slowly also with the powdered sugar or you'll also make a mess!

  • Most of the time I half this recipe!
