Gluten-Free Restaurant Style Onion Rings
Crispy, golden, and insanely good - these gluten-free onion rings are better than most restaurant versions!

Ingredients:
1 large onion (or 2 medium onions), cut into ¼-inch slices
1¼ cups gluten-free all-purpose flour
– We recommend Bob’s Red Mill 1:1 Gluten-Free Flour1 teaspoon baking powder
– No Added Aluminum Baking Powder1 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1 cup milk, or as needed (you may need a little more for the right consistency)
¾ cup dry gluten-free bread crumbs or gluten-free panko
– We love using Aleia’s Gluten Free Panko Bread Crumbs for extra crunchSeasoned salt, to taste
1 quart oil for frying
– We recommend peanut oil for the best flavor and crispiness

Instructions:
Preheat Oil
Heat the oil in a deep fryer or heavy pot to 365°F (185°C).Prepare the Onion Rings
Separate the sliced onions into rings and set aside.Mix Dry Batter Base
In a small bowl, mix the gluten-free flour, baking powder, and salt.Coat Onions in Dry Mix
Dip the onion rings into the flour mixture until they’re fully coated. Set them aside.Make the Batter
Whisk the egg and milk into the flour mixture until it forms a smooth batter.Dip & Drain
Dip each floured onion ring into the batter. Let excess drip off by placing them on a wire rack over foil or a pan for easy cleanup.Bread Crumb Coating
Spread the panko crumbs in a shallow dish. Press each ring into the crumbs and coat thoroughly. Tap gently to shake off excess.Fry
Fry the rings in small batches for 2–3 minutes, or until golden brown.Drain & Season
Remove rings and place them on paper towels to drain. Immediately season with seasoned salt.Serve
Enjoy hot with your favorite dipping sauce or alongside a burger or sandwich!
